* Abstract submission is now open. Please click on the 'Submit an Abstract' icon on the right side of the screen to submit your abstract(s). Abstracts will not be accepted after 21 September 2011.
Researchers are invited to submit an abstract for the poster session, which will take place during the extended lunch. Out of the abstracts that are accepted, at least eight will be selected for oral presentation during one of the four sessions on HIV Epidemiology, Prevention, Pathogeneses or Treatment.
Guidelines- All abstracts must be submitted in British English.
- Abstracts should be structured and include concise statements outlining:
- Background - study objectives, hypothesis to be tested, or description of the problem
- Methods - method(s) used or approach taken
- Results - specific results in summarized form (statistical analysis when appropriate)
- Conclusions - description of the main outcome of the study.
- Abstracts can only be submitted online; those submitted by fax, post or e-mail will not be considered.
- No modifications can be made once the abstract has been submitted.
- The abstract text should not exceed 430 words, tables and graphs can not be included.
- It is the author's responsibility to submit a correct abstract. Any errors in spelling, grammar or scientific fact will be reproduced as typed by the author.

- The abstract topic/theme is the general heading under which your abstract will be reviewed and later published in the conference printed matters if accepted. Please choose the topic which best describes the subject of your abstract.
Deadline for Abstract SubmissionAbstracts will not be accepted after 21 September, 2011.
Notification of Acceptance or Rejection Notification of acceptance or rejection is sent to the presenting author by mid October 2011. Please note that the presenting author who receives mail concerning the abstract, is responsible for informing all co-authors of the status of the abstract. Authors whose abstracts have been accepted will receive instructions for the presentation of their abstract.
Abstract Blinding and Review All submitted abstracts go through a blind peer-review process carried out by the organising committee and the chair of the associated session.
Rule of Two Each presenting author may present a maximum of two abstracts at the conference. There is no limit to the number of abstracts that may be submitted.
Publication policyYour abstract, if accepted, will appear in the abstract book and on the NCHIV2011 website. In addition, all participants to NCHIV2011 receive a final programme which contains the conference programme and a list of all oral and poster abstract presentations.
Young Scientist Abstract AwardFor the second time running, there will be an award this year for the best abstract submitted by a young scientist.
To be considered for the award, authors must have recently gained, or are in the process of gaining, their PhD. In addition, the abstract must relate to work carried out in gaining their Ph.D.
The winning abstract author will be given the opportunity to present their abstract during one of the conference sessions. They will also receive a prize to the value of € 1000 to be spent on a study or conference trip of their choice.
